Mike pointed me at the below video on the future of media. If you can hear past the narrator’s rather grating accent there is some thought provoking stuff in there. That said as the video goes 25-50 years into the future it inevitably starts to lose the plot a bit – Larry Lessig, as US Secretary for Justice, bans copyright and a Google/Microsoft megacorp start funding space missions to find new markets to exploit. Of course if in 50 years all this pans out, I’ll get my avatar to eat my virtual hat. I’m not holding my breath though, my Dad is still waiting for the flying car he was promised in the 50’s.
Nothing ever happens like you think it will. If there weren’t so many idiots driving, we’d surely have that flying car by now…
